Hampstead Farms

Hampstead Farms is a return to Montgomery’s agricultural roots with a focus on growing local, natural, sustainable foods. Hampstead Farms is a 1.5 acre urban farm embedded in the heart of Hampstead's first neighborhood.
It works in two ways. Our farmer, Anne Randle, cultivates seasonal produce and hosts educational events for school & community groups. Secondly, a community gardens section allows Hampstead residents to grow their own produce at the farm with other neighbors.
The farm features a working barn, production planting beds, butterfly garden, and lawn event space. We have recently added sections for beehives, in addition to a community recycling, composting, & bio-diesel program by Southern Eco. The farm supplies local restaurants and the Downtown Farmer's Market with seasonal produce.
Hampstead is leading the way in national community building with its insistence on Agricultural Urbanism as a critical component in sustainable community design. We believe the benefits of local agriculture are far too important to ignore and are doing a number of things at Hampstead to support “eat local” initiatives. From growing our own food, to selling it & serving it in the community, Hampstead believes in a closed-loop system. It's back to basics at Hampstead. Back to what truly matters. You can't get any greener than that.
